The Public Private Partnership Between the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health and Impilo Consortium in Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital

In the late 1980s the idea originated for a large new hospital in the Cato Manor suburb of Durban. Construction began in 1996, and this case study documents this pathfinder project. This was the first PPP to run its entire course under the regulations issued in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) 1999.
