Description
The ICD division commissioned the Human Sciences Research Council to compile a profile of poverty in the different wards of Tshwane. The HSRC therefore undertook to gather and map relevant indicator data and to provide ICD with a report based on an analysis of the data. Data from the 1996 Population Census conducted by Statistics South Africa, were used as a base to construct comprehensive social indicator data that could assist in policy formulation and serve as a guideline for the allocation of poverty relief funding.
