Public sector organisations face several challenges when it comes to owning and managing office space which includes financial constraints, bureaucracy and outdated infrastructure. These challenges require proactive management, strategic planning, and regular evaluation amongst others to mitigate their impact and ensure the efficient use of public sector resources.

In this presentation Siza Sibande from the Property Management Trading Entity (PMTE), highlights the issues, challenges, opportunities and risks experienced within the public sector office ownership space. The PMTE is a part of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) and is responsible for managing the national government’s immovable assets. This includes planning, acquiring, maintaining, and disposing of these assets.
