Access to Essential Services: Education and Health
This purpose of this paper is to demonstrate first the importance of improving access to and equity in the provision of essential services such as education, health, water and sanitation, for enhancing human development outcomes through inter alia, poverty eradication, economic growth, and broader social development. Part Two of this ‘synthesis’ paper describes the ‘global context’ and is drawn from a more detailed analysis (Pillay, 2005a).
