In order to support the objectives set out in DHET’s 2013 White Paper for Post-School Education and Training (PSET), it is critical to engage with a strong evidence base of research. Towards this end, comprehensive research on the transition from PSET into the labour market is a priority for the department. The tracer study described in this report is the result of a collaborative project between DHET, the Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC) and the Capacity Building Programme for Employment Promotion (CBPEP) and was funded by the European Union. The study was motivated by the need for more information on the pathways into and through TVET colleges and the transitions from colleges to the labour market.
