Covid19 Country Report 2nd edition: Government leadership governance and legal regulatory responses

Chapter 2 of the 2nd Edition Covid-19 Country Report documents how the second year of the pandemic and the interventions implemented by sectors in response. There will be a special focus on the vaccine rollout (including vaccine hesitancy) from a governance and leadership perspective, including a reflection on the extent to which the vaccine rollout programme implemented by various sectors and spheres of government, considered vulnerable groups. The report documents learning experiences, successes, challenges and failures in implementing various interventions as the pandemic unfolded after the first year. This will be the basis to formulate lessons from the experience and recommendations for any future disasters, not limited to health-related conditions, but also to other events, such as climate change, energy, food or water supply crises.
