GTAC bursary programme
The GTAC bursary programme was launched in 2017 as part of GTAC’s public economics capacity building initiative, which seeks to address the skills gap in public policy and public economics in South Africa.

The programme provided bursaries for Economics Honours graduates to pursue a Master’s degree in Economics at any South African university. In addition to receiving funding for their studies, the recipients are supported by GTAC and National Treasury through individual mentoring from experienced economists, group support, vacation work and internships.
Seven students were awarded bursaries in 2018. Profiles of the 2018 recipients can be found here.
Unfortunately, the bursary programme is no longer open to new students due to a lack of funding.
