Notice to potential bidders
In South Africa the fight against corruption is one of the major priorities of government. Corruption and related activities in both the private and public sector has a detrimental effect on government’s effort to deliver effective services to the people. Corruption is one of the greatest impediments to the country’s growth and development, and the rebuilding effort begun years ago must be maintained. We see corruption as a societal issue that must be confronted head on by every facet of society.
We have become aware that some of our prospective bidders are approached for bribes. It is clear that the solicitors are not even au fait with the tender processes. These are clearly opportunists who watch the press for tender processes and try to insert themselves. The Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC) has zero tolerance for acts of corruption and its employees are prohibited from asking for favours in exchange for tenders. Please report suspected acts of corruption or any approaches aimed at eliciting favours to the Anti-Corruption toll-free hotline: 0800 701 701.
