The seminar builds on earlier IWG discussions on blended finance by highlighting the catalytic role of development finanance institutions (DFIs) in expanding the use of guarantees and credit enhancements. Specifically, the seminar will explore ways in which DFIs could support efforts to scale up the deployment and utilisation of guarantees and credit enhancements.

The Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) is focused on financing matters to tackle the persistent infrastructure investment gap in support of stronger, sustainable and inclusive economic growth and development. The emphasis under the South African Presidency is on creating an enabling environment to facilitate significant private sector participation in public infrastructure.
