This seminar seeks to strenghten the focus on social infrastructure as a strategic investment priority. Aligned with the G20 Infrastructure Working Group’s focus on developing investible pipelines and scaling blended finance, the seminar will explore how the multilateral development bank system and the private sector can enhance collaboration with national governments to catalyse more funding into social infrastructure.

The Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) is focused on financing matters to tackle the persistent infrastructure investment gap in support of stronger, sustainable and inclusive economic growth and development. The emphasis under the South African Presidency is on creating an enabling environment to facilitate significant private sector participation in public infrastructure.
